4 Free Handmade Cursive Fonts for Adobe Illustrator

In this article, you’ll find some of the best cursive fonts to download for free. You can use these handwritten cursive fonts for Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or other graphic design programs. You don’t have to create any accounts or subscribe, simply download, install, and use them. 

Choosing the right font is essential for a design, and different fonts are used for different purposes. Cursive fonts are popular for use in holiday design, gift cards, menu design, etc because they give a touch of a warm and caring feeling. 

It’s the holiday season! I was designing some customized cards for my family and friends, and I decided to customize the fonts as well to make them extra special. Sharing is loving, so I would love to share these fun and simple cursive fonts that I created with you.

The font format is OTF (OpenType), which allows you to resize the characters without losing their quality.

Adding Fonts to Adobe Illustrator & How to Use

Once you download the fonts, follow these steps to install and use them. 

Note: all screenshots are taken from Adobe Illustrator CC Mac version. Windows or other versions can look different. 

Step 1: Find the downloaded file on your computer, double-click to unzip the folder. 

Step 2: Go to the unzipped folder and double-click to select the font you want to use in Adobe Illustrator. 

Step 3: Click Install Font

Now you can use the fonts in Illustrator, Photoshop, or other Adobe programs. Simply add text to your document, and choose the font from the Characters panel. Take Adobe Illustrator as an example. 

If you want to change the font to IHCursiveHandmade 1. 

Select the text, and go to the Characters panel. Type the font name in the search bar and you should see the font option. Actually, when you type in the first letters of the font name, it should already show the option. Simply click on it and the font will change. 

You can also change the font color on the Appearance panel, or adjust the character style such as kerning and other spacing settings on the panel.
